Perkins&Will are currently recruiting a Senior Architectural Technologist to join our creative Dublin Studio team as the Technical Lead. Our Dublin Studio is established as one of the most successful design firms in the UK and Europe, delivering a wide range of professional design services including corporate interiors, strategic workplace consultancy services, new build architecture, large scale urban design and planning development, and hospitality.
Key Requirements
- Successful candidates should have 8+ years of technical experience in all RIAI/RIBA project stages in professional practice and experience in both base build projects and interior fit-outs.
- Ability to successfully lead a technical team and support and manage technical packages through all design stages.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the technical team expertise including technical detailing, Technical Specification writing knowledge and/or NBS production, regulatory compliance, tender, and construction packages.
- Represent the practice and raise its profile in a positive manner.
- Work harmoniously with members across the studios, mainly our London studio.
- Contribute to technical design reviews.
- Demonstrate a senior level of experience and technical knowledge.
- Preferred 8+ years or proof of level of experience managing and developing detailing and detailed project packages through on-site management.
- Lead the creation of design drawings and documents.
- Contribute to the development of technical expertise including technical detailing, NBS production, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent specification writing capabilities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all work stages and level of detail required for each RIBA stage.
- Work as part of a team to ensure designs are compliant with Building regulations including BCAR and planning regulations.
- Ability to work within a multi-discipline environment leading and assisting with coordination and clash management for projects.
- Investigate and propose suitability for use and maintenance procedures.
- Research and specify products, materials, and specifications for bespoke furniture and manage integration with IT and electrical requirements.
- Assist Designers and Architects in reviewing construction work on site.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- A degree in Architectural Technology (Technical detailing).
- Excellent Revit experience (minimum 5 years) with technical focus abilities.
- Excellent design and technical detailing skills.
- Family creation and creation of schedules (REVIT).
- Willing to act as a technical mentor to junior staff members within the team, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate a team.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent knowledge and ability to undertake ongoing research of joinery, furniture systems, partition systems, ceiling systems, finishes, and materials.
- An understanding of clients’ requirements and experience of client liaison.
- Client management skills.
- Build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
- Understanding of the financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget is desirable.
