Taking on a pivotal role in the development of creative design concepts for regional to large hub airport and aviation facility projects and providing design leadership throughout all phases of the project. Initiate and create schematic designs that optimize design solutions and plans with responsibility for presentation drawings, models, and narratives. Promote and manage overall project goals and constraints, including client values, construction and design budget limitations, and schedule requirements. Responsible for interpreting client goals and program requirements needed to establish design goals and parameters on large and complex aviation projects. Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements. Expertly applies knowledge of building technology, building materials, construction methods, costs, and code to the design process. Identify and respond to technical implications and design decisions. Develop concept drawings and imagery for aviation facilities. Prepare client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions. Play essential role in marketing opportunities and develops successful client relationships for continuing business. Use graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope. Review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. Lead collaborative teams in internal design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups and external community engagements. Demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas. Mentor staff. Accountable for effective coordination with partners and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases. Requirements To join us, you should have: A professional degree in Architecture, Design, or related discipline 10+ years of experience with at least 7-8 years of relevant aviation project experience. Terminal and concourse design experience required Understanding of airport and airline client relationships Proven knowledge of terminal planning, programming, site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. Strong sketching, graphic, and 3D modeling and visualization skills; including Revit Strong design portfolio Travel to project site and project team locations is required.
