Description
Common and baseline responsibilities of an SR. INTERIOR PROJECT MANAGER include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and living design.
- Full responsibility for managing and directing all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.
- Manages project teams, fosters collaboration, demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance, design ideas, and successful project delivery.
- Leads effort in developing and validating project scope, fee, budget, services during the marketing and contract development process.
- Accountable for complete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and project team.
- Responsible for managing project using the Deltek Project Management system; completes work plans in Deltek, including identification of project team members, budget, consultants, schedule for completion, fees, and costs as well as project change notices or other actions taking place on the assigned project.
- Works with Interior Project Designer and Sr. Interior Project Designer to avoid or eliminate conflicts in schedule due to the changes in various projects.
- Provides on-going communication through team meetings, minutes, and memos to project team.
- Understands and responds to technical implications and design decisions.
- Prepares strategic plans for project success.
- Serves as primary client liaison to maintain client satisfaction.
- Participates in marketing opportunities and develops successful client relationships for continuing business.
- Is able to participate in community and industry events, and expert panels.
- Considers risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability.
- Understands design philosophies and current trends throughout the profession, including planning and strategies, design and space planning, documentation, furniture specifications, materials, and finishes.
- Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
- Demonstrates strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas.
- Mentors staff.
- Coordinates staffing resources with Operations Director.
- Communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines to ensure effective communication.
- Strong Executive presence.
To join us, you should have:
- A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- 10-15+ years of experience.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.
- Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, industry standards, and application of building codes.
- Basic knowledge in programming, planning, and site analysis.
- Adeptness in conducting preliminary design studies, shaping the project's initial concepts.
- Thorough understanding of life safety requirements, securing a safe and compliant design.
- Experience in all phases and aspects of a project.
- Proficiency in conceptual modeling tools such as Sketch Up.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Presentation Tools (Adobe Suite/Affinity, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
- Collaborative and professional work ethic.
- LEED GA within 6 months of hire.
- Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, ILFI Living Future Accreditation or RELi AP.
- NCIDQ required.
