We are currently seeking a Sr Project Designer to join our team. As a Sr Project Designer, you, in partnership with the Sr Project Manager and Sr Project Architect, are accountable for project financial performance and team communication. As a member of the project team, you will establish overall design direction, develop architectural design concepts, and prepare documents during the design development phase. You will be responsible for the development of conceptual design of all phases of one or more projects, assist and coordinate with the construction document preparation to support design intent, prepare for design presentations, and coordinate with agencies affecting design.
You will originate and develop creative design concepts and the design documents during the design development phase. You will support the resolution of design solutions during the construction documents and construction administration phases and may assist with the completion of construction documents. You will incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects and develop solutions to design problems.
You will oversee the design team or less experienced designers to ensure design intent, ensure the project is on schedule and within budget, and ensure that documentation for all phases conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards. You will mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff, participate in professional development reviews, and “Lessons Learned” sessions. Additionally, you will set up project team software parameters and manage standards while taking personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. A commitment to external and internal client service is essential.
You will regularly communicate with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, conduct progress reviews, and ensure design delivery. You will prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
You will support the marketing and business development activities of the office when needed.
You will provide technical support and project communications to the team as required. This includes attending on-site visits and client meetings to verify design requirements and deliver design progress reviews. You will provide support to all team members for specific market, discipline, or areas of design expertise, assist the Project Manager with defining project work plans, and participate in team meetings to ensure the design intent is consistently adhered to.
You will perform as Team Leader on certain projects, leading a small team of less senior designers or technicians in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems following established standards. You will participate in project reviews regarding project costs, budgets, and adherence to schedule, and be responsible for tracking electronic project data and files while facilitating team internal and external project communications.
