Our practice in Morristown is growing and we are looking for a talented new team member to manage strategy project engagements across our broad range of services including workplace strategy, real estate portfolio strategy and change management. We’re primarily focused on developing holistic experiences for a wide range of influential organizations such as major corporations, healthcare providers, cultural institutions, developers, and universities. We are looking for established leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit who will help us develop and strengthen our client relationships and evolve our practice. Your Role As a Strategy Manager, you will be a core member of our multi-disciplinary teams working with a wide range of clients across industries and sectors to evaluate their current conditions, define their goals, and develop integrated strategies for how their environment, technology, policies, and services can support their objectives. Projects span a wide range of scales, from pilot projects that test new ideas to global strategies and programs. You’ll manage project teams and the process to conduct rigorous research efforts, synthesize data and feedback into meaningful insights, and develop innovative future state concepts and solutions. Working with your teams, you’ll help guide the engagement with our client’s stakeholders to get input, co-develop solutions, and assess options. As a Strategy Manager, you’ll: Lead the workflow planning, coordination, and administration for a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, designers, strategists, and stakeholders to generate transformative ideas and implementable strategies. Provide leadership to our client and internal teams by communicating project objectives, scope, terms, and schedule. Continually seek opportunities to help us work in smarter and more effective ways. Scope and write proposals for new client engagements. Imagine new ways of working and craft project scopes that clients will be excited about. Develop knowledge of our team member capabilities and goals, in order to build effective project teams and to identify opportunities for team member advancement as well as hiring needs. Be the primary point of contact for the client, responding to client’s requests and communications in a timely manner. Arrange and prepare for client touchpoints, documenting decisions made, action items, and deadlines. Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, invoices and collections). Manage and track new business opportunities, client touchpoints, and project pipeline using Salesforce. Interface with our design studios to ensure the seamless transition of design strategy to design implementation. Partner with a Strategy Director to co-lead a small team (6-8 team members) within the Studio to maintain a sense of belonging, support team member’s professional development, and track the status of current projects and new business opportunities. Work closely with the Studio Director and other Strategy Managers to address and resolve project staffing needs across the Studio. You are a self starter and quick learner thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and open environment have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously have excellent organizational and time management skills can drive accountability and clear structure on projects that may have vague parameters or frequently change/evolve are a natural at connecting with people are a quick tactical thinker, able to see the big picture and chart a path forward are a clear communicator and presenter of ideas, findings and/or point of view are an enthusiastic collaborator and are able to work successfully with a range of other disciplines are familiar with research methodologies and activities and the design process are strong and persuasive writer, able to clearly and succinctly describe work process, options for consideration, findings, recommendations, communications, memos, etc.are driven by curiosity and action with acute attention to detail Your background and experience 6+ years of relevant professional experience and an undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant field Experience in any of the following fields is a plus – social science, architecture, interior design, environmental design, urban design, real estate, design strategy, organizational development, or organizational psychology Demonstrated experience as project manager, leading consulting/strategy engagements Strong team management, client relationship and account management experience Familiarity reviewing and responding to RFQs and RFPs Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign required), and Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook), and other visual communication tools Fluency with digital collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, Microsoft Teams etc. Familiarity with design software such as Revit and AutoCAD is a plus To be considered, please include 2-3 project examples and a cover letter as part of your submission Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
