Gensler Los Angeles is seeking an energetic and creative Station and Transportation Planner to join our Cities + Urban Design practice area working on a range of high-profile public and private sector mobility projects. The Station and Transportation Planner has overall project responsibility for planning and design advancement of station and mobility infrastructure projects working closely with the Principal in Charge, Design Manager and design teams. Work spans all phases of projects from procurement, concept design and planning, design development and architectural documentation as part of a growing practice. Clients include public transportation agencies, cities, mobility technology providers and private companies. Projects range from transit stations, active transportation and streetscape projects, mobility hubs, charging stations, parking garage re-positioning for autonomous operations and emerging mobility place typologies. What You Will DoLead planning and architectural design production for all phases of transportation and mobility projects. Prepare project scope for proposals and provide inputs for fee proposalsGenerate concept options for structures, canopies, cladding, and kit-of-parts elementsInvestigate and specify architectural material and systems with an emphasis on transportation facilities and systemsApply code knowledge to conceptsCoordinate consultant teams providing inputs to design proposals and documentationLead preparation of documentation sets to communicate design intent both for early design concept packages and for design development and construction setsMentor staff – support a positive culture while striving for internationally recognized design excellenceEngage in thought leadership collaborations for publication on blogs and/or company social media channelsCreate and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements for the teamWork closely with Design Manager to maintain fiscal responsibility and schedulesYour QualificationsExperience leading station design and mobility projects10+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years of transportation or mobility workProfessional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture from an accredited programMust have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationshipsStrong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skillsExperience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teamsKnowledge of planning and building codes, standards and building structuresProficiency with conceptual design software (parametric and visualization platforms)Proficiency with documentation software (Revit, CADD)Proficiency with management software (Microsoft Office)Proficiency with Adobe SuiteArchitectural License or Planning Certification preferredLife at Gensler At Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design. We view our professional development programs as strategic investments in our future. **The base salary range will be estimated between $104,000 - $128,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
