The places we create are rooted in local culture and act as a catalyst for socially sustainable urban transformation.What You Will DoContribute to developing strong, creative and innovative design concepts on a broad range of urban design and master planning projects including:Transit oriented developmentLarge-scale urban infill developmentMixed-use developmentCommunity and neighborhood master planningDistrict and citywide master planningNew communitiesCampus planning for education, medical, or general institutionsSuburban master planningCollaborate and advance conceptual and schematic designs on urban design and master planning projectsUtilize visualization skills to express design both in plan and three dimensionally Assist with the preparation of narrative reports and presentations that communicate the design process and conceptsAnalyze/ synthesize and document project influencesAssist in presentations and production of urban design and master planning projectsAssist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordinationAssist in programming and project schedulesContribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programsInteract through projects and other office wide initiatives with other studios and practice areasYour Qualifications0 – 5 years of related urban design, urban planning, and architecture experienceMaster's degree in architecture, urban design, planning or equivalent; Undergraduate degree in architecture, urban planning, or landscape architecture is a plusStrong knowledge of land use planning, residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use developmentProven background in creative collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, from concept through presentationKnowledge of urban planning, zoning and policyStrong experience in 3D building massing and conceptualizationSoftware proficiency in Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, MS Office (Word, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)Life at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
