Let’s discuss ‘Reclaim Brixton’ with Johannah Fening

This weekend the lovely Johannah Fening showcased her final MArchD thesis ‘Reclaim Brixton', a fantastic insight to what Brixton could look like if the process of redevelopment retained aspects of Afro-Caribbean Culture.

“The virtual event will include a summary of her research where she analyses two case studies as well as a video presentation of her proposal. This project has recently been nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal award.

Her project responds to the following question:
How can architectural interventions, disrupt current gentrified models of development to protect, enhance and empower Black migrants and diasporas, to prevent the erasure of Afro-Caribbean culture using Brixton as a catalyst for social reform?”

You can watch the replay on the Architecture Social's Youtube Channel below, if you would like to showcase your project to please get in touch here or join the community to take part next time!
