We are currently seeking a Sr Design Professional to join our Interiors team. As a Sr Design Professional, you are responsible for coordinating and/or undertaking the design development, production, and delivery of projects, as a member of the project design team or on your own projects. Assignments require independent action and decision-making as well as the ability to supervise others.
With preliminary direction from the project architect or project manager, you will analyze and develop approaches to the creation and modification of architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc., ensuring the incorporation of design intent. With direction from the project designer or more senior design technician, you will develop, modify, and/or review drawings according to established standards.
You will develop strong presentations and early design studies, prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings, and build models for client/project team review. Understanding and translating design intent into technical documents is essential. You may lead a small team of more junior technicians in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems following established standards.
Additionally, you will assist in client, consultant, and contractor project information coordination, and help the team leader ensure that documentation for all phases conforms to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice Standards. You will apply proper QA/QC methods throughout the project, conduct product and code research, and incorporate codes into technical documents.
You will mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff and may participate in professional development reviews. Regular interface with clients and consultants may be required, and you may assist in work planning and scheduling processes. You will prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and may assist the team in construction administration document management.
Assuring that HOK document standards are met and archiving documents appropriately is crucial. You may participate in setting up project team software parameters and management of standards, facilitate internal and external communications, and track all project data in electronic files. You will incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects and take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. A commitment to external and internal client service is essential.
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The reasonably expected range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
