Taking ownership of various processes involved in producing buildings
The London School of Architecture Collective Peer Development programme is for all those concerned with the built environment and the future of cities.
This CPD will elaborate on what ByOthers has learned as a small practice working in varied roles as designers, as clients and as makers of buildings. They'll discuss their experience across a range of projects; from the studio they built in a garden, to a multi-unit housing scheme where they're acting as a developer and to residential jobs they're working on as contractors.
Duration: 1 hour (30min presentation, 30min open discussion)
Platform: Zoom (details to sent to registered participants prior to talk)
Richard Keys (ARB, RIBA), Founder, ByOthers
Richard founded ByOthers Studio in 2020 to actively broaden the scope of a typical architectural practice. In response to the climatic impacts of the built environment, ByOthers is self-developing projects to deliver ambitious targets. Richard aims to prove that it’s economically viable to design low energy, low carbon homes. Prior to starting ByOthers, Richard worked at architectural offices in London working on the design and construction of ambitious schemes such as The Leadenhall building. Most recently he was the Project Architect for Google’s London headquarters in Kings Cross.
