Government’s most consistent line in amongst the planning reform speculation is ‘getting plans in place for 2023’. We’re going to be sharing our learning from current work with councils preparing and reviewing their Local Plans. We’re focusing on the ‘requirements that are unlikely to change’ in any new system – project management, evidence bases, cooperating with neighbours (currently ‘the Duty’). Is work we’re doing now really wasted? What are we learning and what do we think is relevant into the future?
What are we learning about project management, pragmatic/proportionate approaches to evidence bases and cooperation on strategic matters - how can we improve approaches to plan making in the present system while preparing for whatever the new system will look like?
We have invited our key partners along:
· Project management – DAC Planning
· Evidence Bases – Figura Planning
· Duty to Cooperate - IPE Ltd
They will be discussing their learning from recent work and will form a panel for a Q and A session.
This event is for local authority officers only so please use your @gov.uk email address when registering.
