We are seeking an all-round experienced candidate who can work on multiple projects at any one time. A mix of creative design ability for the early stages alongside strong contract administration skills for our on-site projects will be essential.
As a key member of our small team, the ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and design and be able undertake project work independently.
- Proficiency with AutoCad, SketchUp and Adobe Suite is essential.
- Hand drawing skills are very beneficial.
- Ability to work throughout the RIBA work stages from concept through to completion, relatively independently.
- An understanding of all aspects of a building project is essential with an ability to undertake Measured Surveys, Site/Building Appraisals, Sketch Proposals, Planning Drawings, Building Regulations and Tender Packages and Specifications.
- Have experience of working in a UK architectural office for at least 4-5 years, having gained a thorough knowledge of UK Planning and Building Regulations with excellent knowledge of both traditional and modern construction detailing. This must be demonstrated through a portfolio of work and completed projects.
- Good written and communication skills together with a strong command of the English language. Confident client facing and external consultant coordination skills.
- Experience of working on bespoke residential and commercial projects with the ability to create innovative and functional architectural solutions.
- An active interest in conservation, heritage and listed buildings a bonus. Many of our projects involve Listed Buildings, Non-designated Heritage Assets and work in Conservation Areas.
- An ability to create 3D visuals and 3D printed models is considered beneficial.
- Must be within a commutable area to the office and able to drive in order to make site visits.
