Project Description:
Here is Connor's Third Year project "characterising communities" - a mixed used/hybrid housing development scheme. The aim of the project was to revitalize a run-down area of Portsea Island, focusing on the creation of a hybrid space that prioritizes the community's needs. The design sought to breathe new life into the area by integrating various functions and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity.
This particular part of the master plan showcases a mixed-use development that includes over 50 dwellings of diverse typologies, tailored to accommodate a range of residents and lifestyles. Additionally, the inclusion of an enclosed commercial street serves to enhance the area's vibrancy, providing spaces for local businesses and creating a thriving, dynamic community. The project seeks to blend residential, commercial, and communal spaces, ultimately fostering a more diverse and resilient neighbourhood that meets the needs of both current and future residents.
