**Your Opportunity**
Join a growing Health practice in Southern California as a Kaiser Permanente Portfolio Manager for Stantec. With general guidance from the Stantec Health leadership team, you’ll support all aspects of the project process from validation/pre-design through construction administration and close-out within Acute and non-Acute Healthcare projects. Coordination with consultants, contractors, and Owners will be a part of your weekly activities supporting multiple projects at any time, within various phases of design and construction. A significant opportunity to hone your craft and develop a key client relationship and develop career building skills.
For this opportunity, you will be based out of LA, Irvine, or San Diego. Stantec embraces a hybrid home/office work environment, with 2-3 days per week in office for all-staff meetings, project-related team work sessions, client meetings, etc. You will also spend time at project locations based on the business needs of the client. These offices offer an alternative work schedule providing every other Friday off.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for delivering small to medium healthcare projects of varying complexity/size.
+ Inspires creativity, critical thought, and design excellence both internally and externally.
+ Conceptualizes a building design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, budget, and program.
+ Develops a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups.
+ Participates in design critiques and constructability reviews.
+ Presents the design to stakeholders during early project phases. Develops building design in accordance with cost parameters.
+ Develops space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with building program.
+ Evaluates and selects building systems and materials.
+ Coordinates building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
+ Implements sustainable design principles into the design and environment.
+ Participates in development of the program and other pre-design efforts.
+ Ensures that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.
+ Responsible for leading others in project team setting and design critiques and pin-ups.
+ Implement Life Safety strategies for Healthcare and related occupancies.
+ Possess strong leadership and relationship-building skills providing direction, guidance, and mentoring to staff.
+ Participate in marketing efforts, including proposal development, market strategy, presentations, and client interviews.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Proven delivery of successful Healthcare projects with HCAI.
+ Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
+ Produce designs at a level that would be perceived externally as excellent.
+ Ability to communicate concepts and ideas effectively.
+ To lead one or more teams on projects through the development of design concept.
+ To check work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage team to meet project budget and schedule.
+ To interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
+ To present abstract ideas to the client and client representatives.
+ Maintain contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required
+ To apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity.
+ Ability to lead a highly collaborative BIM delivery strategy.
+ General knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
+ General understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.
+ Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp.
+ Experience with leading and implementation of Lean Tools.
**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
+ California licensure required
+ Minimum 10 years of experience with healthcare or institutional clients
+ LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):**
**Salary Range(s):**
* $95,000 - $142,600 (CA, CO locations only)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
