EBBA ARCHITECTS is an architecture and design practice based in London, driven by a passion for constructing socially engaged spaces of exceptional quality, while prioritizing material consciousness. Through a collaborative process and close client involvement, we create buildings, places, objects, and sets that propel the development of each project. Our approach is characterized by functional and meticulously crafted responses, employing inventive solutions to address complex challenges. We constantly push boundaries by exploring materials, construction techniques, proportions, and forms.
Our work has garnered significant recognition and has been widely exhibited. We were recently honored with the prestigious Young Architect of the Year award, and our achievements have been featured in Wallpaper magazine's special issue titled 'Ground Breakers'.
The studio is captivated by an open-ended architecture that allows for flexibility and embraces contemporary ways of living. We have successfully delivered projects across various sectors, including building and residential developments, installations, exhibitions, and set design. Our completed commissions span the arts, residential, retail, and education sectors, with projects executed in the UK, Europe, and China. Our current endeavors encompass multi-unit housing schemes, a construction skills school at the Olympic Park, an exhibition for the Royal Academy of Arts, three private houses, and a garden pavilion.
EBBA is an inquisitive architecture and design practice, embodying a hands-on and investigative approach in creating buildings, places, objects, and furniture. At the core of our work lies a commitment to shaping spaces that evoke specific poetic and material qualities, capable of eliciting direct emotional responses from users. Our designs are distinguished by functional and meticulously crafted solutions that embrace inventiveness when faced with intricate challenges. We continuously explore materials, construction techniques, proportions, and forms to deliver thought-provoking outcomes that maintain a sense of familiarity.
