We are a team of architecture, landscape, and interior specialists who possess in-depth knowledge of various sectors.

In 1963, students David Hutchison, Graham Locke, and Tony Monk (HLM) won a design competition for the new Paisley Civic Centre, which led to the establishment of Hutchison Locke and Monk, now known as HLM Architects, in 1964.

The Paisley project, the second-largest public sector project since World War II, served as the foundation for our philosophy of social architecture. HLM Architects has since earned a reputation for design excellence and expertise in our key sectors, focusing on solving our clients' challenges while being mindful of the impact that design can have on people, communities, and society.

We are driven by a sense of social purpose, aiming to create educational environments that inspire, healthcare spaces that nurture, homes that contribute to thriving communities, and sustainable infrastructure in every sense. This commitment to social purpose underpins everything we do.

Anchored by a skills and behavior framework and centered around our core values, the academy provides a bespoke learning pathway from day one, incorporating insights from a profiling tool called PROPHET, which recognizes the uniqueness of each individual.
