**Your Opportunity**
As an Entry Level Mechanical Designer /Engineer-in-Training, you will work on engineering tasks under the guidance and direction of experienced designers and engineers. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, design, and specification of building mechanical systems and equipment for project applications, verifying compliance with applicable codes, engineering standards, and best practices.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Conduct basic interpretations of drawings of all disciplines, codes, and similar materials.
+ Perform 3-D modeling of mechanical systems using Revit software.
+ Collaborate with architectural, interior, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines in the coordination of mechanical system requirements.
+ Perform engineering calculations to analyze and design building mechanical systems using industry standard tools and software.
+ Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
+ Perform field work to verify existing conditions.
+ Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
+ Perform other duties as delegated by senior staff.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamic principles and fluid mechanics
+ Ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
+ Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD and their use as a drafting and design tool; proficiency a plus.
+ Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
+ Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and similar material.
+ Ability to receive direction, follow process and adopt feedback and suggestions from senior staff.
+ Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
**Education and Experience**
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering; Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.
Stantec currently employs a flexible hybrid work setting involving a blend of working in an open floor plan office conducive to in-person collaboration and working from home using VPN and MS Teams to stay connected virtually.
Typical office work tasks require extensive use of a computer. Occasional field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
