**Job Description**
The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented part-time/on call Water/Wastewater Mechanical-Process Engineering Expert, with a focus in water/wastewater infrastructure design, with in-depth design engineering experience in municipal conveyance and pumping systems, for immediate employment in our Fort Myers office. This role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus high level technical expertise, project delivery leadership and mentoring of developing engineering staff by leveraging top notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s Fort Myer’s area business. The appropriately qualified applicant will be a Mechanical-Process technical lead, reviewer and mentor.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Mechanical-Process Engineering Design and Engineering During Construction phase services. The work will include activities focused on design of municipal water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects including large multimillion projects
* Supervise and mentor junior staff
* Communicates project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.
* Makes technical presentations
* Responsibilities may include overseeing the planning and design of various project elements, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverables
* Overseeing construction phase engineering services
* Coordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering focus on process engineering
* 12+ years of related experience, with progressive experience as a technical lead in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance and pumping systems
* Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully lead Mechanical-process design teams including large multimillion design projects.
* Must have a proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully managing water and wastewater projects, resulting in securing additional projects from clients
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* 20+ years of related experience, with progressive experience as a technical lead in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance and pumping systems
* Progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure engineering design, assessment and rehabilitation, conveyance and pumping systems including large projects
* Experience working in the area for water/wastewater/stormwater utilities is required
* Experience in managing and/or delivering projects by “alternative delivery” approaches
