**Job Description**
**AECOM** is actively seeking an **Environmental Planner** to join our Environmental Planning & Permitting Group. This position is based in our Honolulu, HI office. Hybrid work schedule is an option.
**The responsibilities of this role include:**
* Prepare Hawaii Environmental Policy Act (HEPA) (Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 343) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.
* Support the preparation of environmental planning and permitting documents such as technical reports, permit application packages, and mitigation and monitoring plans.
* Interprets and applies applicable government codes, ordinances and regulations.
* Conduct research and prepares reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
* Support public and client meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials such as PowerPoint presentations and compiling meeting results.
* Support marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Environmental Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Science, or a related discipline).
+ 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/ or education.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Previous experience with local agencies in the state of Hawaii.
+ Knowledge of Native Hawaiian cultural traditions and values
+ Master's Degree in related field
+ Prior consulting experience
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Familiarity with HEPA and other Hawaii planning laws and policies, NEPA, federal regulatory and compliance guidelines
+ Familiarity with issues related to environmental planning, conservation planning, cultural and/or natural resources planning.
+ Proficiency with ArcGIS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, and Adobe applications.
+ Ability to create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and documents.
+ Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, identifying what needs to be accomplished and regularly completing tasks.
