**Job Description**
AECOM has a position available for a **Mechanical Specialist / Energy** **Analyst** to be based in Boston, MA. In this role the selected candidate will work on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization initiatives for municipal, utility, and commercial and industrial clients. This position will perform technical tasks on a variety of projects including energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy master planning, district energy systems, net-zero buildings, monitoring base commissioning, grid-interactive buildings, and building decarbonization.
**Responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited, the following:**
The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of distributed energy resources (electric vehicles, solar photovoltaic, battery storage), and energy system decarbonization. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative energy that leverage the use of data analytics to identify, analyze, and specify energy reduction measures.
+ Leading the development of mechanical energy efficient strategies looking at, but not limited to: heat pump systems, VRF, and weatherization
+ Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
+ Perform commercial energy audits for small C&I customers with aim to reduce overall energy consumption
+ Troubleshoot technical problems and issues related to energy usage
+ Work requires occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
+ Identify and communicate all program eligible energy efficient upgrade options
+ Preparing and presenting results and professional recommendations, in report or presentation format, to clients and teams
+ Perform energy calculations to identify and validate energy conservation measures (ECMs)
+ Develop cost estimates associated with ECMs
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
BA/BS and 2+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
Experience must include one or more of the following:
+ Conducting comprehensive energy assessments, design or development and site investigations,
+ Demonstrated experience with energy process improvements and demonstrated timely/accurate project completion
+ Manage project installations
+ Provide technical support
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with utility programs
+ Demonstrated networking capabilities with public and private clients, power and energy industries, from inception through contract award and implementation
