Our Building Services Group, in Minneapolis, MN, provides design and construction administration services for a wide variety of community development projects, including buildings, water and wastewater treatment facilities, recreational facilities, industrial facilities, flood protection, dams and other hydraulic structures, and much more. The role of a Structural Engineering CAD / Revit Technician requires comprehensive and broad Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) skills and technical knowledge in several areas within the structural engineering discipline to support design and produce construction documents. A Senior Structural CAD Technician/Technologist must be highly skilled in preparing technical drawings and details of buildings, tanks, dams, retaining walls and other structures.
In this position as a Structural CAD / Revit Technician, you will have the opportunity to work as an integral part of a multi-discipline team of engineers and other technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. **Your Key Responsibilities**
The successful candidate will utilize their AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) computer skills to produce construction drawings for a variety of engineered structures, in a dynamic design team setting. Key responsibilities include:
+ Creating AutoCAD drawings, Revit models and various graphics for the design of buildings and other structures, from report stage through design and construction.
+ Using AutoCAD drawings and Revit models received from others, including other Stantec offices, outside architectural consultants, and clients, to create structural drawings and BIM models.
+ Perform thorough quality control of construction documents and provide design ideas and solutions.
+ May include reviewing product and material submittals (shop drawings) from contractors during construction to verify conformance with contract requirements.
**Education and Experience**
+ The ideal candidate will meet the following education and experience requirements:
+ Certificate or Associates Degree from technical school or community college in a CAD or engineering graphics program
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with AutoCAD and/or Revit software
+ Working knowledge of construction of buildings and other structures
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
