**Your Opportunity**
Your role as a senior contributor on our professional Architecture team is to work independently to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs. Project types are primarily in the public realm, with a focus on K-12 Education but also may include transportation, civic infrastructure and light industrial. Your experience ensures that you are quite familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates and building codes. You will manage the development of design and contract documentation while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under direction of the Team Leader, Senior Designer or Principal.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ To lead multiple teams through design development, contract documentation and construction support.
+ Advocate and inspire creativity, critical thought and design excellence.
+ Support Business Development activities including marketing proposals.
+ Foster collaboration between offices while promoting and providing design vision.
+ Act as a mentor, teacher and coach to design staff with the goal of growing and guiding them through their careers.
+ Evaluate the quality of design and design activities and assure a high level of design quality throughout the firm.
+ Oversee and participate in production of design award submissions.
+ Engage staff in dialog on design, ensure design process is followed and influence usage of technological tools.
+ Express philosophy of the work with appropriate vocabulary.
+ Identify and direct project photography, written descriptions, and other media in support of building the firm’s portfolio.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
+ Experience working in and around existing buildings and with historical building methods and materials.
+ In depth knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
+ Prior experience working with the NYC School Construction Authority, including knowledge of their standards and practices, helpful.
+ Demonstrable proficiency in effective and efficient technical writing
+ To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
+ Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, while effectively communicating with the client(s).
+ Ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness
+ Ability to manage teams to meet project budget and schedule.
+ Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
+ Proficient use of Revit as a design and documentation tool.
+ A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam.
**Education and Experience**
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field. Minimum of 12 years of experience.
Registered Architect preferred. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.

+ Hiring Salary Range: $103,700 -$129,600— New York City locations only. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
