**Job Description**
AECOM’s Portland office is currently seeking an Environmental Field Technician in Portland, OR. We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong field capabilities, including mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and can convey and document activities and observations in a clear, concise manner. Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Coordinate with task manager, project managers, subcontractors, and field staff to support environmental sampling, data collection, and field documentation
+ Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative
+ Ability to work independently with diverse staff in office but predominantly in a non-office setting (i.e., outdoors, year-round)
+ Candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors
+ Operate field instrumentation to perform sampling of soil, sediment, vapor, surface water, and groundwater
+ Collect groundwater, soil, stormwater, and vapor samples using approved sampling plans, SOPs, and industry accepted methods
+ Perform operation and maintenance (O&M) and troubleshooting of environmental remediation systems
+ Oversee subcontractors conduct environment construction activities
+ Perform daily tailgate meetings and Site Safety Officer duties
+ Ability to maintain sample chain-of-custody
+ Document field activities with detailed daily field reports documenting sampling, monitoring, O&M, and construction oversight activities
+ Field tasks may require ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
+ Must be able to conform to AECOM travel policies, including ability to obtain and hold the AECOM corporate credit card for use in making travel-related purchases
+ Must demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees
+ Perform other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ HS and 2 years of professional experience in related discipline
+ Valid driver's license
+ US citizen/US permanent resident
+ Must pass all pre-employment hire activities includingdrug screening
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 40-Hour HAZWOPER OSHA certification
+ Construction OSHA 30 certification
+ Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
+ Current first aid/CPR training
+ Experience working at industrial and oil & gas facilities
+ Self-motivated and able to complete challenging assignments
+ Effective organizational skills; time management skills; the flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse project tasks; an eagerness to acquire new skills and meet new challenges
