**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking an **Environmental Scientist** to be based in **Pittsburgh, PA.**
_This position is expected to begin in_ **_February, 2023._**
**The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:**
+ Preparing and signing manifests for off-site waste disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
+ Attend and oversee off-site shipments of hazardous waste
+ Prepare and sign permits for on-site waste disposal activities
+ Utilizing Cority software program to enter manifest data, upload waste profiles and manifests, and create new profiles of waste streams
+ Preparing necessary regulator reports and forms, including biennial hazardous waste reports, biennial residual waste reports, Form 25R (Source Reduction Strategies), and Form 26R (Chemical Analysis of Residual Waste)
+ Performing ad hoc sampling of waste generated on site
+ Tracking of waste containers and ensuring containers have proper labeling and correct information written therein
+ Conducting weekly inspections of satellite waste accumulation areas
+ Prepare regulatory reports for air emissions, water discharges, and other regulatory requirements
+ Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
+ Prepare permit applications for air, water, and waste permitting
+ Coordinate with co-workers on work assignments and availability
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
+ Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Earth Science or related field.
+ Hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
+ US Citizenship is required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with waste management
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs – Excel will be used extensively in this position
