AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Architect for employment in our Norfolk, VA office.
The **responsibilities** of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations
+ Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables
+ Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups
+ Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required
+ Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets
+ May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project
+ May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel
+ Develops solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity working under general supervision
+ Exercise independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solve problems when encountered, and receives guidance on projects
+ Develops architectural designs to meet project specifications
+ Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and working drawings
+ Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations
+ Prepares architectural reports and design narratives
+ Coordinates design activities with other engineering disciplines

**Minimum Requirements** :
+ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Licensed as a registered architect, preferably in VA
+ Experience working with Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop and PowerPoint
+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
+ Experience with SketchUp Pro, Adobe Creative Suites, or other related graphic software
+ Department of Defense experience.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
+ Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
