The Kaleidoscape: Revitalizing the River Tamar through a kaleidoscopic lens
Phoebe's thesis, The Kaleidoscape: Revitalizing the River Tamar through a Kaleidoscopic Lens, is a visionary exploration of landscape revitalization that seeks to interweave cultural and environmental elements. The project focuses on the River Tamar and its surrounding areas, such as Devonport and Stonehouse, reimagining their historical, ecological, and urban narratives.
Drawing on the metaphor of a "kaleidoscope," Phoebe intertwines physical and abstract components to create a dynamic and evolving landscape. The proposal emphasizes extending boundaries through wetlands to merge land and water, introducing mixed-use high-rises that integrate residential, commercial, and community spaces, and fostering connections through pathways linking key cultural and natural sites.
