Why can’t we live together
Trevor Bbanda’s final thesis project, titled "Why Can't We Live Together," takes a bold approach to addressing the housing crisis through innovative communal living design. At its core, the project proposes the creation of habitable bedstees - compact, self-sufficient living units crafted from cross-laminated timber. These units are thoughtfully arranged within a hardwood-framed structure, creating a convivial space that fosters community while respecting privacy. By reimagining the traditional communal living model, Trevor’s design aims to provide high-density, affordable, and dignified housing options. His work reflects a deep understanding of sustainable building materials and a sensitivity to modern urban challenges, positioning "Why Can't We Live Together" as a progressive solution that explores the intersection of sustainable architecture and social cohesion.
