Who they are Founded in 1850, Architects Benevolent Society is a charity dedicated to helping past and present members of the architectural community and their families – from people who are just starting out their careers, to those who are now in retirement. Support includes confidential advice, mental health and financial assistance to allow more people within the architectural community to live rewarding and fulfilled lives. Who they can help · Architects, architectural technologists or landscape architects with at least one year’s professional experience in the UK. · Employees of architectural practices who have at least two years’ experience in the UK. · Dependants of the above. · Students of architecture, architectural technology or landscape architecture. They encourage anyone who is unsure or whose situation does not quite match to get in touch with their welfare team who may be able to offer advice and other support. How they can help ABS works with welfare partners such as Anxiety UK and Shelter to provide fast, holistic support. They hope to help people reach a point where they no longer need support. They could help in the following ways: Money & debt Regular grants Essential living costs One-off grants Welfare benefits advice and support Mental health & wellbeing Self-management support One-to-one therapy including CBD, hypnotherapy among others.
