About

About Farrells.

When it comes to clients who are passionate about creating impactful and successful places, Farrells is the ideal partner of choice. With established studios in London, Manchester, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, Farrells leverages its 50-year legacy of leadership in the built environment industry to deliver exceptional design solutions. Our extensive experience allows us to see the bigger picture and offer comprehensive services from initial concept to the successful completion of iconic landmarks that benefit investors, users, and the city as a whole.

A Day in the Life at Farrells is filled with fresh creative challenges. Our studio culture fosters a collaborative environment where multidisciplinary teams, spanning all levels from Part 1 to Partner, come together for design charrettes, project work, and social activities. We embrace a forward-thinking design culture that reflects the collective energy, enthusiasm, and expertise present in our practice today.

Passion drives us, and we prioritize the holistic development of our team. In our London studio, we organize weekly Vinyasa yoga classes to promote mindfulness and relaxation, and in the past, we have hosted art classes and film clubs. We strongly encourage the generation of new ideas!

Events play a significant role at Farrells, as we actively participate in industry events, panel debates, and exhibitions both in the UK, China, and beyond. We also organize our own events and exhibitions, bringing together influential minds to discuss pressing architectural and built environment issues. From our "Urban Dialogue" exhibition, celebrating 25 years in Hong Kong and China, to panel debates on the necessity of river crossings in East London, we foster research and encourage meaningful discussions.

We also organize staff-only events, such as First Friday, a relaxed monthly gathering where we share office news, project updates, and enjoy drinks and refreshments.

The Farrells Creative Hub is located in our offices in London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, providing a vibrant setting for our cosmopolitan team. We believe that the spaces we work in are instrumental in fostering creativity and achieving success. Our London studio, formerly a furniture factory and later transformed into an aircraft parts manufacturing site during World War II, now serves as a naturally lit architect's studio after Sir Terry Farrell and the team reimagined the space.

Within our London office, the Farrells Creative Hub serves as a co-working space, attracting design-based businesses, start-ups, and freelancers, fostering a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere.

As an international practice, Farrells embraces diversity and recruits talent from around the globe. Our strength lies in the range of perspectives this diversity brings, enabling us to effectively navigate complex international markets.

At Farrells, we take pride in our industry-leading gender balance and the representation of over 30 nationalities among our staff of approximately 200. Our senior staff members have cultivated long-standing service, contributing to a cohesive and integrated team.
