About

About Goldstein Heather.

We are a London based architecture studio founded in 2019 by Simon Goldstein and Giles Heather. While our background encompasses various typologies, including residential, commercial, cultural and educational, our work has focused predominately on the design and delivery of high quality, predominantly residential projects, from extensions and one-off houses to larger, multiple unit schemes. We find we gain energy and creativity from the challenge of working from more intimate to grander scales; it makes us better, more intuitive designers. Our fundamental ambition is to design beautiful buildings that exceed our clients’ expectations. Buildings that both delight with poetics and satisfy with functional logic and efficiency. Our influences are broad and encompass the historical, modernism and contemporary vernaculars. This enables us to find a balance between place and context and a need for characterful architectural expression. Our pursuit of timeless design fits hand in glove with our commitment to sustainability, where we always seek to give priority to the existing building, the possibility of retrofit, supporting the circular economy and the use of natural and durable materials. This is not a bolt-on, but a core part of our design process from the inception of a project. We support the need to prioritise climate change and are members of Architects Declare. We work with a range of consultants on often highly complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Our skill in negotiating these complexities has led to repeat projects with clients and ever strengthening relationships. We advocate and explain our designs as clearly as possible. We find that this helps drive our projects through an increasingly challenging and burdensome planning process. This is as true for a one-off house as it is for our larger projects. We are always delighted to discuss new projects to find out whether we can help shape your aspirations, adding architectural excellence and value.
