About mcmahon and nerlich.
mcmahon and nerlich is a design-led architecture and interior design studio based in South Melbourne, Australia. Established full-time in 2013 by directors Rob Nerlich and Kate McMahon, the practice focuses on finely crafted residential and commercial projects, weaving together influences from the built environment, architectural urbanism and design theory.
Together with a multi-disciplinary team, the studio creates architecture and interior design that is approachable, beautiful and memorable. It works across all scales, with expertise in residential, education, commercial and urban design across metropolitan and regional areas. Kate and Rob teach design at university and maintain a hands-on approach, with a focus on design-led architecture that is sustainable and a portrait of their clients.
