About
About MIX architects.
It all starts with me listening and you talking. I will ask questions along the way which will help build a picture of exactly what it is you want to achieve. Sometimes this is crystal clear from the beginning, which is great. But with most projects, it’s not quite that straight forward - you might tell me that the current layout isn’t right, that a particular section of the house doesn’t get enough light, or that it’s just not working for you. And that’s why I need to unpick exactly what those issues are before we can start to find a solution together.
I’m a very visual person, so whilst I’m taking notes, I’ll probably start sketching a few ideas to explore later. I use hand sketches a lot during this initial stage which I find works really well for my clients because they are quick to do and easy to amend - it usually takes a few iterations before we find the perfect combination of space and budget, so I scribble and scribble until we get it just right.
Once we’ve got the basic design on paper, I’ll then use 3D digital sketch models and diagrams which will really start to bring the project to life for you. And then as we continue through the project, we’ll have regular check in sessions - I’ll share reports and presentations with you so that you know exactly where we are, and you’ll be able to ask as many questions as you need to. I find this really helps maintain enthusiasm and energy as we continue the journey together
