About

About The Office as a Project.

The Office as a Project is a workplace design, space planning and research consultancy founded in Hong Kong in 2017 by Michael He, working with clients in Hong Kong, mainland China and the UK.

In the practice's own words:

Workplace design is more than squeezing every last square metre of efficiency into your desk layout, or simply picking out the right furniture. It is more than one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter solutions, like the latest "future of work" trends or click-friendly aesthetics.

Workplace design is about engaging workers. It is about building effectiveness, trust and ultimately a space, and design process, that unlocks the power of your teams and reflects your values.

Spaces of work are our obsession, and the office is our project.

The studio runs workshops with employees, designs space-planning and performance audits for small and medium-sized businesses, publishes original research on workplace environments, and is open to alternative collaboration models beyond standard fee-for-service consultancy.
