How does a standard rebate scale work?
It reduces as the placement lasts. The Architecture Social default is a full rebate under two weeks, 75% between two and four, 50% between four and eight, 25% between eight and twelve, and none beyond twelve weeks. Other agencies use different bands, so read the terms you actually signed.
Does a rebate apply if we make the person redundant?
Usually not. Most terms limit rebates to the person leaving or being dismissed for cause within the period, and exclude redundancy, restructuring or a change of mind about the role. Selecting the reason in the calculator shows how that changes the position.
Is a rebate the same as a replacement?
No, and agencies differ on which they offer. A rebate returns money; a replacement offers another search at no further fee. Some terms give the agency the choice, others give it to the client. Knowing which you have before a placement fails avoids an awkward conversation.
