From live adverts
5 of 10
Part II adverts state a salary, from £30,000 to £55,000.
The highest comes from a role that also accepts qualified architects.
The role
Part II, in plain terms.
A Part II Architectural Assistant has completed a Part 2 qualification and works in practice while building the experience recorded towards Part 3. Until you pass Part 3 and join the ARB Register, you cannot use the title architect.
Two Part II roles can differ a lot. What matters is the work you will own: a drawing package, coordination with consultants, a stage of a project. Judge a move by that, and by who will review your work.
Ask before you accept
- Which projects and stages would I work on first?
- What would I own, and who reviews it?
- How would the practice support my Part 3?
Prepare
Build the CV, portfolio and plan behind your next move.
