Our commitment
Architecture Social is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion across its work as a recruitment business, content platform and community.
People should be treated fairly, respectfully and without unlawful discrimination, whether they are candidates, clients, employees, partners or community members.
Scope and protected characteristics
This policy covers fair treatment, employment, recruitment activity, community behaviour and service delivery. Architecture Social opposes unlawful discrimination related to the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics:
- age;
- disability;
- gender reassignment;
- marriage and civil partnership;
- pregnancy and maternity;
- race, including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origin;
- religion or belief;
- sex; and
- sexual orientation.
How this applies to recruitment
Recruitment affects access, confidence and opportunity. Inclusion must therefore shape the process, not sit only in a policy document.
- Job briefs should focus on genuine requirements, not lazy proxies.
- Candidate evidence should be assessed fairly and consistently.
- Language in adverts and conversations should be respectful.
- Reasonable adjustments should be taken seriously.
- Salary, flexibility, progression and expectations should be discussed honestly.
- Candidates should receive respectful communication and feedback.
Practical commitments
- Provide equality, fairness and respect in employment and service delivery.
- Avoid unlawful discrimination in pay, benefits, terms, training, promotion, dismissal, redundancy and flexible-working requests.
- Oppose bullying, harassment, victimisation and discrimination.
- Consider access needs and reasonable adjustments.
- Take concerns seriously when they are raised.
- Review this policy as Architecture Social grows.
Raising a concern
Concerns about discrimination, harassment, access or unfair treatment can be raised in confidence with Architecture Social. We will consider the issue, the people affected and the appropriate next step.
