Where the work happens.
The family living space combines large windows, planting and a suspended net. · The covered outdoor room gives the red-clad house a deep, protected threshold. · A net above the living room makes play part of the interior.

In their words
Architecture shaped by place and everyday stories
Acre Architects works from Saint John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Co-founders Monica Adair and Stephen Kopp lead a team whose projects range from individual homes to civic facilities, workplaces and larger commercial buildings.
The practice connects craft, function, local traditions and artistic expression. Its portfolio includes buildings for public life as well as private homes, with each project developed around the particular character of its setting and the people who will use it.
Run Ragged Residence brings those interests together in the architects' own family home. Red shingles, framed landscape views and a sheltered outdoor room give the house a strong presence beside the water, while play is built into the interior.
