Where the work happens.
A tall living space combines restored brickwork, bookshelves and timber surfaces. · A planted courtyard and pool connect the house with its outdoor spaces. · Timber panelling connects the dining area with the reworked kitchen.

In their words
Architecture, interiors and craft
Clayton Korte is an architecture and interiors practice with offices in Austin and San Antonio. Its work ranges from houses and ranches to wineries, hospitality projects and public spaces.
The practice treats the design of buildings and interiors as a connected process. Its published portfolio brings together new construction, additions and the reuse of existing places, with attention to materials, craft and the character of a setting.
At Balcones Residence, the team renovated and extended an earlier house by Roland Roessner. The work retains the original building’s prominence while adapting it for new owners, with interior and landscape collaborators contributing to the wider project.
