In their words
Considered architecture through material, light and detail
Winter Architecture was established in 2016 and is led by founding director Jean Graham. The practice is based in Fitzroy, Melbourne and the Surf Coast, with projects across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.
The studio approaches architecture through the tactile qualities of materials, light, shadow and the way people move through space. Its process moves from establishing a clear brief and design direction to resolving details, consultant coordination and construction documentation.
At Cremorne Townhouse, that work takes the form of targeted interior changes within an existing building. Restored blockwork and timber floors, dark finishes and reflective surfaces connect a new kitchen and bathrooms with the character of the original house.
