The project
The design sets out to frame the view of the caldera throughout the home. Living and kitchen spaces sit at the front, with the bedroom and bathroom behind a sequence of three vaults read as fragments of one volume.
The middle vault is partly carved away so the bed lines up with the view, and an earth-toned mirror in the headboard reflects the caldera back into the room. Brown glass doors lead into the bathroom.
