A steel-framed, painted-plywood festival pavilion created as an adaptable cultural focus in central Almaty.
The story
Artpoint Pavilion was created for the 2015 Artbatfest and British Council programme on a wooded city-centre plot in Almaty. Its steel frame and cut plywood surfaces create an open shelter that can host work, play and performance in different configurations.
Atomik developed the technical design through drawings, sketches and prototypes with the contractor. The practice records a two-week construction and installation period and 75,000 visitors during the three-month festival.
