Pafos District Courts
vardastudio has designed a new building for the Paphos District Court, linked to the existing court by a suspended covered bridge.

The project
The new building contrasts its contemporary form with the formal, symmetrical language of its neighbour. A covered bridge raised above the ground gives a sheltered route between the two.
Facing the main road, a double-height foyer with a sculptural stair forms the entrance. The design filters and shades daylight, and a street wall perforated with square openings sends shafts of light into the foyer.
