The project

The White Symphony is an apartment in a classic Lisbon building, reinterpreted through a contemporary and tactile interior. Rather than colour, the design uses layers of white, ivory, sand, linen and soft mineral tones.

The high ceilings, ornate cornices and sculptural wall mouldings were kept as the backbone of the home. Rounded furniture, monolithic tables, ceramics, handwoven textures and pale stone were added with restraint.

Daylight moves across the white surfaces through the day, while chosen lighting adds warmth in the evening. The kitchen combines simple forms with traditional Portuguese tiles.
