The story behind the work.
GBBN's restoration of Union Terminal in Cincinnati repaired exterior and interior structural damage and introduced new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security and data systems to support the museum's future.
The work cleaned and repointed the limestone and brick facades, restored original murals and reopened historic dining spaces. Galleries, classrooms, laboratories and wayfinding were reorganised to improve the visitor experience, with GBBN serving as design and executive architect alongside John G. Waite Associates.
