01 · The short version
Five things to know before you move.
What we would tell a friend weighing a Gulf offer, or a practice setting a budget, before either one looks at a table.
AED 18–50k
One title, six answers.Six guides put a UAE Senior Architect anywhere between AED 18,000 and 50,000 a month. Most of the gap is what each one counts.
AED 9,500
The step to associate pays.On our benchmark, Senior Architect to Associate in Dubai adds about AED 9,500 a month, from 37,500 to 47,000.
+52%
Developers pay more at the top.A developer Design Manager range reaches AED 57,000 a month. Our practice benchmark tops out at 37,500.
60%
You are not alone. In a 2026 Gulf-wide survey, 60% of professionals said their pay does not match their responsibilities.

Why we blend.Every Dubai and Riyadh figure in one widely used 2026 guide repeats its 2025 edition. So we never lean on a single table.
02 · By role

Our benchmark for each grade, with the full spread of the guides behind it. Where the pale band is long, the guides disagree, so the job behind the title matters more.

03 · Experience and pay
What are your years worth?
Candidates ask us this more than anything. Use these bands to sense-check an offer, then let the scope of the job decide the grade.
AED a month, Dubai and the UAE, excluding bonus and relocation. Each band blends a studio guide that splits pay by years with the grade other guides publish at that stage.
+36%
The step at ten years. On our benchmark, an architect goes from about AED 27,500 at 6 to 9 years to 37,500 at 10 to 14 years.
Scope decides
Years are a sense-check.Two people with ten years can carry very different responsibility. Match the job first, then use the band to test the offer.
04 · How the guides compare
Same title. Six different answers.
Every guide measures something different, so we never copy one. Our benchmark takes the middle of the guides that count the same things, and shows you the rest.
Most package guides start a UAE Senior Architect between AED 25,000 and 30,000. They part company at the top.
The one guide that publishes basic salary only sits well below the rest, so we show it but leave it out of our benchmark.
Senior Architect, UAE
AED a month · published range
Orange is salary only, so it stays out of our benchmark. Sources: six published guides from other agencies, each at its own definition. Our typical for this role: AED 37,500.
05 · The whole offer
The salary is only part of the offer.
Housing, schooling, flights and relocation can change what an offer is worth more than a pay rise. Compare offers line by line.

06 · Beyond the UAE and Saudi
22 markets reviewed. Two with real tables.
For the rest we show what exists, rather than stretch a Dubai figure to fit. A gap in published evidence is not a finding of low pay.
Ask us before you accept. We look for current, comparable offers and tell you how much weight the number can bear.

Your Gulf pay questions.
Make the numbers useful for a move, or for a hire.
Is this salary or the whole package?
Every figure on this page is a total fixed monthly package: basic pay plus housing and transport where they apply. Bonus, school fees, flights and relocation are not included.
Why are Dubai and Riyadh in different currencies?
Packages are agreed in local currency, and the gap between the two cities changes from grade to grade. Converting would hide that, so we show Dubai in AED and Riyadh in SAR.
Why do other guides give different numbers?
Each guide counts something different: some publish basic salary only, some a full package, some developer pay. We blend the guides that count the same things and show you the spread of all of them.
Are these figures new for 2026?
Not always. One widely used guide repeats its 2025 Dubai and Riyadh figures in 2026. Treat every figure as a dated reference and test it against current offers.
Can Architecture Social help with a Gulf offer?
Yes. We recruit for international practices in Dubai and Riyadh, and we can tell you how a specific offer compares, line by line, before you decide. It costs candidates nothing.
