A highly regarded architecture and urban design practice is looking to appoint a Senior Housing Architect to join its residential team. Working on large-scale mixed-tenure developments across London and the UK, this role offers the opportunity to lead significant housing projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, consultants and developers.
The position would suit an Architect with strong residential experience who enjoys taking projects from concept through planning and delivery, while playing an active role in shaping sustainable, well-designed communities.
The Role
Working within a specialist housing team, you'll take a leading role on large residential developments, helping to develop design proposals, coordinate project teams and contribute to successful project delivery across multiple RIBA stages. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects respond to planning policy, design standards and commercial objectives while maintaining a strong focus on quality and placemaking.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of residential projects.
- Develop design proposals for mixed-tenure housing schemes across a variety of scales.
- Produce and coordinate project information to a high standard using Revit.
- Support planning submissions, design reports and client presentations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout project delivery.
- Ensure projects respond effectively to planning policy, design guidance and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with local authorities, developers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the delivery of sustainable, commercially successful housing developments.
Requirements
- ARB-registered Architect preferred.
- Strong UK residential experience, ideally within mixed-tenure housing.
- Experience working on developments comprising 100+ homes.
- Excellent design skills and understanding of residential placemaking.
- Strong Revit proficiency.
- Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning policy and residential design standards.
- Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
