In their words
A single architectural idea, developed from site to detail.
KOHLERSTRAUMANN is an architecture practice based in Basel, Switzerland, founded by Aaron Kohler and Marc Straumann. Its work spans residential, cultural, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use projects.
Landscape, interior and product design form part of the studio’s approach to a project. Materials, construction and the way a building will be used are considered alongside its relationship with its setting.
The practice also provides feasibility studies, design strategy, development partnerships and construction management. It describes building knowledge and project delivery as influences on design from the earliest stages.
At Hasenrainstrasse in Binningen, this approach produces a seven-apartment building that steps down a hillside, combining generous city views with terraces and carefully separated homes.
