About the practice

Spaces for the way people live.

The practice’s work at Belsize Lane began with a straightforward brief: make a terraced house a more sociable place for friends to visit, dine and spend time together.

Moving the kitchen into the rear living area created a new relationship between the main rooms. A glazed extension brought the terrace into that arrangement, while a separate study and utility room added practical space.

The project demonstrates how changes to layout, levels and openings can make an existing home work differently without losing the distinct character of each area.
