The story
The story behind the work.
Atlantic Beach Boardwalk is a 2022 competition proposal by Studio Eiraji for the Department of Planning and Development in the Town of Atlantic Beach. The proposal sets out to make the waterfront feel welcoming and easy to use while responding to an exposed coastal setting.
The design brings programme, form, material and colour together to give the boardwalk a clear public identity. Open-air circulation and areas of shade respond to the climate, while the sequence of spaces supports movement, pause and social use.
Javad Eiraji led the proposal, with Yegane Sheikhi as design manager and Mahshad Fakhraeinejad and Dorsa Afzoud on the design team.
