The story

The story behind the work.

Atlantic Park organises a 10.2-acre coastal district around North America's first Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon. A diagonal paseo links the lagoon, a 70,000 sq ft entertainment venue, more than 100,000 sq ft of retail, a hotel and 309 homes.

Hanbury, Gensler and Cooper Carry developed the project as a connected indoor-outdoor destination rather than a collection of isolated attractions. Nearly two acres of beach and re-naturalised landscape support public life and give the district a locally grounded coastal character.
